My name is Heather Melendrez, I live in the state of Washington and I am a 41 year old woman, mother of 4 daughters. I have been perscribed Ambien for a sleeping aide because of the trouble I have had with sleeping. It helped me sleep or awhile, however I did do things that I was unaware of. One night not long after I went to bed, my sister-n-law called me and I had a conversation with her that I did not remember the very next morning. I have gotten up and made something to eat and then not remembered it the next day either.

I do not take Ambien now, because it does not seem to work anymore for me. I am only able to sleep for a few hours where it used to help me sleep 7 - 8 hours. I do not like the fact that I did things as if I was awake, however I was not consious to what I was doing, and then had no memory of it; scary. And like every thing else, it leveled out, and was no longer affective.

Sleep aides are a big help, because sleep is a needed part of a healthy life. When our bodies go without sleep we are unable to function at our full capacity and potential. Sleep deprivation should not be taken lightly.
